All about fair share

What is Fair Share?

Greater Harrisburg Chorus operates under a financial system called Fair Share. We offer fundraisers year-round to help members offset their chorus dues. Costs for chorus-related activities such as travel and event registrations are borne by members on their own.

We strongly suggest members become familiar with our fundraisers and take advantage of earning opportunities to help offset the costs.

The projected budget for the 2009-2010 fiscal year (May 1 to April 30), shows fair share remaining at $500, which includes SAI and regional assessment.

• Dual members pay SAI dues ($80) and regional assessment ($22) to their primary choruses.

• For new members, dues are pro-rated based on the month in which they join.

• Youth members (age 25 and under) pay reduced dues.

Can I pay a little at a time?

• Yes, checks can be turned in to Fair Share Coordinator Barb Yost at any time. Be sure to place your check in an envelope and mark it clearly as a fair share payment to receive proper, timely credit.

Do I have to earn my fair share? Can't I just write a check?

• You may earn your fair share, write a check or do any combination you wish. You also can charge your dues to a credit card. Cost of the transaction are borne by the card user. Contact Cheri Bowers to pay by credit card.

How can I track my fair share?

• Fair share spreadsheets are available every month online. A paper copy can be picked up at rehearsal or sent to you via email by contacting Barb Yost.

If my payment is late at the end of the fiscal year, is there a grace period before GH has to contact SAI?

• Our grace period is 365-days long. The annual Fair Share assessment is announced at the beginning of each fiscal year (May 1 thru April 30), and members have a year to fulfill their obligations before the fiscal year ends.
