Meet Our Director
Greater Harrisburg Chorus welcomes Dawn Haggerty

Greater Harrisburg Chorus proudly introduces our new director, Dawn Haggerty.

Dawn has been a musician for most of her life. She is a classically trained cellist and multi-instrumentalist, and has performed with the Tacoma Symphony, The Pacific Northwest Ballet in the pit, as well as many chamber groups, theaters, and other small ensembles throughout the years. She found singing almost by accident in her 20s, and discovered barbershop in 2012. She joined Greater Harrisburg Chorus less than two years later.  In addition to Sweet Adelines International, she is a member of Harmony, Inc., and the Barbershop Harmony Society. Most recently, Dawn was a member of the Scottsdale Chorus and earned a second-place silver medal at Sweet Adelines' 75th annual convention and competition in Louisville, KY., in early November.

Dawn's commitment to her craft extends beyond performance and arranging — she has embarked on a journey to become a director, a role she is proud to have assumed at the helm of the Greater Harrisburg Chorus just two months ago.

Married and a devoted mother of three teenage boys, she somehow manages to find time for her diverse interests, including Latin dancing, jigsaw puzzles, and a notable penchant for collecting shoes.

We look forward to what’s ahead on our musical journey!
